I missed Jacob's first milestone :(

One of the greatest joy of being a stay at home mommy is knowing that you are there when your children hit all their milestones right?...well in this case...I missed Jacob's very first one and have to say that I was teary eyed and a little broken and maybe a tad bit jealous when I heard the news. For about a week now, if not longer, I've been recording Jacob so I wouldn't miss his first milestone and be able to capture it on video for all of you to see. Here's the story:

Last Thursday night, I went down to the basement to get some laundry and was greeted with a mini pool. I called up to Chris, who was upstairs with Jacob, and he went right to work. He didn't want me to help him out so I got Jacob ready for bed (Leah was already asleep) and headed to bed myself. Chris was up until 3AM trying to clean up as much water as he could.

The next day, Chris picked up a Bagster

and we went to work...he started off with all the large items that we had to get rid of because of the damage and then I started with going through all the boxes. We had no idea how much stuff we had downstairs until the Bagster started filling up and it was time to pickup another one.

Okay...fast forward to last night...I went downstairs for just an hour to clean while Chris stayed upstairs with Jacob. I come upstairs and find out that at 10:13PM...wait for it...wait for it....Jacob was on his belly and flipped over to his back and Chris wasn't able to record it because it happened too fast :(

I took this picture with my iPhone after his bath a couple of days ago and treated it with an app Chris told me about. Isn't he so darn cute?! (He was a day shy of 16 weeks old)

Still sleeping after 9.5 hours - Jacob started sleeping through the night on Feb. 7, exactly 2 months old. His longest night was 11.5 hours...I finally had to wake him to eat because I was in pain and needed some relief.

Leah kept wanting to take Chris' chopsticks so he finally gave it to her and challenged her to use it...with no prior practice...she does it!  Chris and I looked at each other shocked & in disbelief.

Feb. 27

Leah absolutely loves her baby brother...did I say that already?! She is always hugging/kissing him & wanting to hold him. She even tries consoling him when he's crying...it's so cute. One day Jacob was in his swing and he started to cry...Leah took it upon her self to start the swing up so it's swaying back & forth, then put on some music, put the blanket back on him that he kicked off...and what do you know...he fell asleep. I guess she felt mommy didn't tend to her baby brother fast enough :D
