This morning I dropped off Leah at the office so Chris can watch her for a couple of hours while I run out to the new house for a couple of meetings.
Chris had put on VeggieTales Jonah movie for her to watch while he tried to get some work done and he was able to capture some cute footage of Leah wiggling to the music and praising God during the Gospel singing section of the movie. ENJOY!!!

House is sealed and windows/doors are in
Perfect timing...God is good!!
It started to rain yesterday while the roofer was finishing up...thankfully he got the house all sealed up before the heavy rain.
Today, when I got to the house the lumber truck was blocking the driveway so I took a picture from my neighbors driveway across the street (zoomed in of course). It's been raining all day so hopefully it won't be as crappy out tomorrow so I can get updated pictures from the inside.
Status so far: The roofer will start the shingles tomorrow (if the weather cooperates and doesn't rain). All windows and exterior doors are in except for the patio door. I need to pick out 2 fireplaces ASAP and order the tubs and the shower heads.

House elevations
I took a drive out to the house today after a Women's Conference at my Church. I was hoping to find our roofer working, but no luck since it looks like our framers haven't even finished their work. Since I was already there I figured I would take advantage of the empty house and take some updated pictures.
Here are some of them:

The house is moving along quickly
WOW...this week has been such a hectic week as far as the new house goes. I'm actually stressing now because everything is moving so fast and everyone needs my answer, like yesterday, and need me to order things the same day, or cut a check for this and cut a check for that, etc.
Well yesterday I was blessed by Chris who was able to watch Leah for the whole entire day while I had 2 meetings at the job site - 1) Marking all interior doors with what style, which way the door will swing, and what hardware. 2) Meeting with the HVAC guy to go over the duct work, units, etc. etc. (that took 3 hours, which I was only planning on half that time). I also had another meeting scheduled in the afternoon with my tile lady to finish picking out all the tiles for the house, which took 4 hours *sigh*. Needless to say it was a very long day and I wasn't even able to do the errands I wanted to between meetings like go to the mall and return some clothes that I bought for Leah, have a sit down lunch by myself to relax from standing all morning, and go to the bank to deposit checks for the business. Thankfully, I did have time to do one errand, which was drop something off at the post office.
Now today, I had Leah with me at the job site and I had to look at the roofing, siding, and trim samples in full sheets to determine whether or not I want the same colors Chris and I choose a while ago and what roofing color best suits the siding. Then, I had a meeting with the electrician to go over how many outlets, switches, floodlights, can lights, pendent lights, under mounted lights, etc....poor Leah was just not having it being that she was there with me for over 3 hours and I had to have her hand the whole time or carry her so she didn't hurt herself with all the construction going on and the open staircases and huge hole in the middle of the house for the basement (obviously not a child safe environment). Plus of course she had to go potty and there's no place to take her so I told her she can go in her diaper...oh my are you sick of my rampage yet LOL.
As far as schedule goes...the framers will be done this week, the roofer will start Monday morning, and sometime middle to end of next week the doors and windows will be installed.

Leah and her friend Cordelia
Since I haven't posted pictures of just Leah (without the new house in the background) in a while, I figured I would do just that :) Pictures were taken last Friday, November 5th. We had breakfast with some friends and then played in this indoor playground. For months now, Leah has been trying to learn how to jump so you'll notice her climbing on things and getting ready to jump...she's starting to get off the ground a little, but she's not fully there yet.
I wasn't fast enough...Leah was making all sorts of funny faces in the mirror, but I got caught. |
Leah scared that poor little girl behind her. She started turning those blocks so fast that the little girl ran away LOL |

A Productive Day
Yesterday was a very productive day! I had arranged for Leah to be with Grandpa & Grammy for the day so that 1) I can get stuff done and 2) Leah can learn to sleep in a bed other then her own for when the big day comes. Leah is just so in love with her bed and because she's with me 24/7, she has a hard time falling asleep anywhere else without me being present.
Chris and I had a meeting at the office in the morning then the afternoon, I was suppose to have a meeting with our GC and our door supplier to do a walk-through of the house and mark all door jams with how we want the doors to swing, style of doors, and levers for each door. However, it got canceled because the rain had slowed the framers and they weren't able to get all the interior walls up in time.
After calling Grandpa & Grammy, Leah had already been tucked into bed and they were just waiting for her to fall asleep. Leah didn't cry or get out of bed, she just laid there chatting to herself so I decided to just have her try and fall asleep instead of picking her up. A little over an hour later, SUCCESS...she fell asleep :)
While Leah was there, I decided to see if I could get an appointment to pick out the tiles for our house, thankfully the lady (very busy woman) "happened" (God is good) to have a cancellation at 2pm (same time I was suppose to have my walk-through) so I went there. I was able to get all of the downstairs tiles picked out and scheduled another appointment with her next week to finish the rest of the house. If Leah was with me...I wouldn't have been able to get all that done so THANK YOU Grandpa & Grammy for watching Leah and THANK YOU Leah for napping so mommy could get stuff done.
I'm praying that the more Grandpa & Grammy can watch Leah around her naps, Leah will get use to napping there and hopefully be able to do an overnight if it's necessary when Jacob comes. It would be one less thing I would have to worry about and knowing that she is safe and secure makes a world of difference!!
Thank you again Grandpa & Grammy! You two are very much appreciated :)

Framing - 2nd floor (110210)
Yesterday Leah and I went to check out the progress on the house and take some pictures of course. They had temporary stairs leading upstairs but they didn't have rails or plywood on the back of the stairs so it was just an exposed staircase, which of course made me nervous since I am already clumsy with Jacob and then holding Leah as well so we just walked up to the landing and took pictures instead of going all the way up. I had one hand holding Leah and the other hand snapping the pictures so they aren't the best, but you'll get a good idea. Tomorrow, I will have more pictures as the interior walls upstairs should be pretty much finished.

That's Casey...one of our framers. He's actually in bedroom next to our room |
The wall that is pushed out will be the shared vanity area for 2 of the bedrooms. Leah's bedroom will be the one to the left...unless she decides she doesn't want that one. |

In the middle is another bedroom...this will most likely be Jacob's room, but again...this may change. |
