Birth Place Party

0 Comments from family/friends
On Saturday, April 25, 2009, we went back to the hospital where Leah was born (St. Josephs Hospital) to attend a party for those that gave birth in the Birth Place in 2008. Ironically, it was exactly 9 months ago on July 25, 2008, when my water broke and Leah was getting ready to enter the world, but Leah wasn't actually born until 21 hours later on July 26, 2008.

When Chris was driving us into the parking lot, a flood of memories came rushing in to both of our minds. It's amazing how much I actually forgot until I got back there...being big, pregnant, itchy from the PUPPPS, feeling of excitement that Leah Victoria was finally going to enter the world, praying that I can get through the pregnancy drug free, and just amazed and thankful that I was finally going to be a mommy.

I was so excited to be reunited with the nurse that helped deliver Leah, Marg Mills, and couldn't wait for her to see Leah now at 9 months old. Of course with all my excitement, I completely forgot that I wanted to take a picture of her and Leah (I brought the camera and everything) :(

Below are some pictures that the newspaper photographer took:

Leah's 9 month checkup

0 Comments from family/friends
Leah did absolutely great with Dr. Rufa and the ladies in the office. She was waving to everyone with smiles all around.

Leah is now 2'5" (91st percentile) and 19lb 5oz (62nd percentile). She only had 1 shot (Hep B) today, which she did excellent like always! Dr. Rufa did comment on how small Leah's head is...she's only in the 10th percentile for the circumference of her head :D LOL

Leah and Emma

0 Comments from family/friends
My friend, Emily, and her daughter, Emma, came over for a little bit. Leah and Emma played for about an hour, then they took a nap, and played some more when they got up. It was so cute seeing the two of them interacting. Leah kept touching Emma's head and trying to poke her eye, and Emma was trying to pull Leah's socks off :)

My camera died so I was only able to capture a few shots:

Visiting Grandpa & Grandma Cindy

1 Comments from family/friends
Yesterday we went over to Leah's Grandpa & Grandma Cindy's for dinner. They setup a highchair, had a spoon & fork, and made Leah a sweet potato so she was able to enjoy dinner with us...it was great!

Leah's experience with solid foods

2 Comments from family/friends
I started Leah on solids on Monday, March 2, 2009, she was 7 months old (Sorry for the late posting). Yes, as you all know I started her on Avocados which was perfect! I didn't have to cook it, which saved time, and all I did was cut the avocados in slices and dipped them in a lemon bath to prevent browning, and froze the slices. Here's some pictures of Leah experiencing her first solid food:

Haha...needless to say, she didn't do that well. I am going to try to post the video I took of her as well...it was hilarious! She was gagging and making the most funniest faces :D

The good news is that as the days and weeks go by, Leah does better and better!

Here's Leah enjoying her Organic Sweet Potato the following week, which was her second solid.

Her third solid was Organic Butternut Squash...then a combo of Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash, YUMMY :) Next week will probably be Organic Peas.

Pictures of Leah at 7 months and some with all of us

1 Comments from family/friends
I wanted to get professional pictures done of Leah at 6 months, but we just could not find the time to do it. Plus, I wasn't happy with the person that took our Christmas pictures so I had to find a new photographer. The pictures below were taken on Saturday, February 28, 2009. We have a whole CD full of pictures (approx. 60).

Read on if you want to know the drama the morning of the pictures! We were scheduled to go in at 11:00 AM...Leah decides that she wanted to get up earlier that morning, which of course is not good since that means she'll just get tired earlier...while I'm putting on her cute little hat, I accidentally pinched Leah's chin with the snap which caused a red mark...after that I fed Leah...let's just say that she wanted a Thanksgiving feast that morning (it took FOREVER!). After she was done, it was my turn to get ready so I put a bib on Leah so she wouldn't drool all over her outfit...We are now running late because of Leah's "Thanksgiving meal" so I'm rushing like crazy to get ready, didn't have time to do my hair, makeup, etc. BUT that was fine since it was really about Leah anyhow. So I'm just about to put Leah in her carseat and I decided that I'll take off her bib....well...I scratched her AGAIN, this time on the side of her face with the velcro from the bib, which of course now she not only has a red mark on her chin, but now she has a red scratch across her left cheek. We finally get there and Leah is already starting to get tired..ugh...I honestly didn't think the shoot was going to turn out good, but surprisingly the photographer was still able to capture about 60 prints between her crying spells and fits. When I got the CD, I had to Photoshop (remove) the scratch on her face, drool & snot from her crying, and whatever else I could find. Hope you all enjoy the few I've done so far :D

After a bath last Thursday

I know you guys hate it when I post without adding pictures of Leah, so here are a couple I took of Leah after her bath on Thursday, February 5, 2009:

I finally resigned from my job!

1 Comments from family/friends
It's official...I finally resigned and put in my notice at the end of January. My last day of work will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

Chris has been very busy with the business and it is just getting too hard for him to watch Leah and be productive during working hours so it was time for me to leave.

God is so awesome...I received a text message from Chris today at work about a new client, that Chris has been after for the last few years, finally decided to do some shooting with us (talk about timing). The awesome part is that not only do they want to, but they want to guarantee 4 shooting days a year! God is just such an awesome God and He ALWAYS provides...we just have to be patient and wait on His timing :D

Leah is 6 months old

0 Comments from family/friends
I can't believe that Leah turned 6 months on Monday, January 26, 2009 (Chinese New Year)!

Leah's two bottom teeth are coming in and she's getting so tall. Her next appointment is this coming Wednesday so we'll see what her doctor has to say. For those still wondering...No, I haven't started Leah on solids yet. I just bought her baby food freezer trays online, which should come on Monday. I'll probably start after her appointment on Wednesday.

Here are some pics I took this morning:
