Leah's experience with solid foods

2 Comments from family/friends
I started Leah on solids on Monday, March 2, 2009, she was 7 months old (Sorry for the late posting). Yes, as you all know I started her on Avocados which was perfect! I didn't have to cook it, which saved time, and all I did was cut the avocados in slices and dipped them in a lemon bath to prevent browning, and froze the slices. Here's some pictures of Leah experiencing her first solid food:

Haha...needless to say, she didn't do that well. I am going to try to post the video I took of her as well...it was hilarious! She was gagging and making the most funniest faces :D

The good news is that as the days and weeks go by, Leah does better and better!

Here's Leah enjoying her Organic Sweet Potato the following week, which was her second solid.

Her third solid was Organic Butternut Squash...then a combo of Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash, YUMMY :) Next week will probably be Organic Peas.

Pictures of Leah at 7 months and some with all of us

I wanted to get professional pictures done of Leah at 6 months, but we just could not find the time to do it. Plus, I wasn't happy with the person that took our Christmas pictures so I had to find a new photographer. The pictures below were taken on Saturday, February 28, 2009. We have a whole CD full of pictures (approx. 60).

Read on if you want to know the drama the morning of the pictures! We were scheduled to go in at 11:00 AM...Leah decides that she wanted to get up earlier that morning, which of course is not good since that means she'll just get tired earlier...while I'm putting on her cute little hat, I accidentally pinched Leah's chin with the snap which caused a red mark...after that I fed Leah...let's just say that she wanted a Thanksgiving feast that morning (it took FOREVER!). After she was done, it was my turn to get ready so I put a bib on Leah so she wouldn't drool all over her outfit...We are now running late because of Leah's "Thanksgiving meal" so I'm rushing like crazy to get ready, didn't have time to do my hair, makeup, etc. BUT that was fine since it was really about Leah anyhow. So I'm just about to put Leah in her carseat and I decided that I'll take off her bib....well...I scratched her AGAIN, this time on the side of her face with the velcro from the bib, which of course now she not only has a red mark on her chin, but now she has a red scratch across her left cheek. We finally get there and Leah is already starting to get tired..ugh...I honestly didn't think the shoot was going to turn out good, but surprisingly the photographer was still able to capture about 60 prints between her crying spells and fits. When I got the CD, I had to Photoshop (remove) the scratch on her face, drool & snot from her crying, and whatever else I could find. Hope you all enjoy the few I've done so far :D
