It's been awhile! (End of December - Now)

When are you going to update the blog?...You need to update the blog?...I keep checking the blog and there's nothing new! These are just some of the comments I've heard in the past few months and my reply is always, I know I really need too.

Okay so just in the past few months lots has happened in the Grosso household and I guess it's best to start from December.

We FINALLY moved in to our new house 3 days before Christmas (I know, we are crazy!) and we are so happy to finally be in. The best part of the house for me is my kitchen, Jacob's would also have to be the kitchen as he is ALWAYS in there going through my spice rack, under the sink, through the drawers...you get the picture. Leah's favorite room would have to be her bedroom. She LOVES her room and her big bed. It's so cute seeing her make her bed in the morning (after being asked of course) and most days putting her dirty clothes (or sometimes not so dirty clothes) in her hamper...trying to keep her room clean and free of clutter. Chris' favorite room...hmmm...I'm not really sure, but if I had to guess I would have to say it's a toss up between the master bath and the laundry room upstairs. He loves the fact that we can just throw in a load of laundry whenever and not have to walk all the way down two flights of stairs to the basement just to put in a quick load. The laundry room is right outside our bedroom so it's extremely convenient to be able to throw some laundry in before heading downstairs or in to the kids rooms to get them ready for the day.

Our first biggest memory in the house would have to be our first Christmas. Leah kept asking us, "Are we going to have a Christmas tree?", and we honestly thought we weren't going to be getting one since it was so late in the season and we didn't have time to go to the Christmas tree farm to cut one down, but it just broke our hearts to hear our baby girl say that, so we decided to go and just pick up an already cut tree or buy an artificial one. 2 days before Christmas (yes, I said 2 days!!), Chris went out to do our last minute Christmas shopping and found a place near our house that sells fresh cut trees so the next day, Christmas Eve, he goes there and no one is to be found! He picked out a $45 tree and was going to just leave some cash somewhere and THEN he saw this HUGE sign that say something like "FREE CHRISTMAS TREE...MERRY CHRISTMAS!". He brings it home and hides the Christmas tree behind the refrigerator box that was left in our garage so that Leah and Jacob couldn't see it when we left that night for Christmas Eve at my in-laws. When we got home that night, after putting the kids to bed, Chris and I got the tree and decorated as much as we could and wrapped all the gifts so that when the kids woke on Christmas day, they will have a tree :)

In January, my mom came to visit for about 3 weeks and we celebrated Jacob's 1st birthday at the end of January so that my mom could be here for the celebration.

That's my mom and look at Jacob just eating away!
Chris did such a great job with opening the gifts and reading each card to Jacob
All the kids helped Jacob open all the gifts

On to the best news ever!! We are expecting our 3rd and we are so excited. I actually felt the implantation of the egg and told Chris that I think we are pregnant. He replies with "No, I don't think so...you can't feel that", so I said "We will know in a month". We are now 3 months pregnant and I'm feeling nauseous....yuck! The first trimester, I felt absolutely nothing so I thought I was all good...not the case. The good news is that I can just stuff my face and then I feel much better. I guess baby is telling me I need to eat more :) The due date as of right now, October 1st, but I have a feeling it'll be the end of September so I guess we will see. Chris and I always get asked what we want boy or girl. We honestly don't have a preference and truly never had a preference with any of our children. Maybe that's because it took us 5 years to even have Leah that when we finally got pregnant with her, we were just excited and felt so blessed to be having a baby.

Poor Chris, he was in California when he got 2 huge news...The first, I told him that if my mom and I go to the old house to clean a bit, I will take a pregnancy test since I know I had some left there...I guess he wasn't happy with me when I text him this picture:

I figured it would be a cute way to tell him since he knew I was going to be taking one, but I guess he would have rather me call him with the news instead of this stick LOL.

The second..2 days later, he gets a picture text of this:
Our new monthly payment was delivered...what you don't see in this picture are the 3 other attachments that we bought for this tractor, a mower deck that goes under the tractor, the brush hog that connects to the rear of the tractor to mow down the tall stuff we have on our property, and the loader that connects to the front when the snowblower attachment is off. UGH...the expenses of owning 5 acres (One of the only negatives of owning land, I guess).

The last few months have been crazy, but I honestly can't complain...we have 2 amazing children and now one more on the way and Chris' business has been doing great (If only our clients would pay on time instead of 60, 90, 120, etc. days later...that would make it even better!). One client still owes us money from October 2011...it's just ridiculous! Sorry got off track there for a moment.

Here are some random moments from the past 3 months:

I love this picture!
Paw Paw's last day
Leah watching a 3D commercial @ the store HAHA
Leah helping me make Boopa's 90th birthday cake
Being goofy!
Jacob loves riding the Carousel...always big smiles!

Leah's new thing...instead of riding on the horse

We attended a Princess party at the Zoo...Leah and I had a blast! She dressed up and danced, made a bracelet, decorated a wand, got her hand painted, and got a picture with a princess. Thanks Aunt Kathy for telling us about it and for the tickets!!
Decorating her wand
A bit blurry but that's the bracelet she made. She picked out all the beads she wanted and I threaded them for her. We both had fun doing it that I think it's time for me to buy some crafts like this to do at home with her.
Leah didn't want her face painted so she picked out a rainbow for her hand
Ahhh...this is the best part of living here! We have a family of 5 living around our property. They come so close to the house especially at night. We also get a lot of wild turkey and I think I saw a fox not too long ago or fox-like animal.
Jacob's first "real" haircut...his first haircut that Chris didn't give him. He did awesome!
Leah's turn...she loves getting her haircut!
Jacob waiting for his big sis to get done
Her hair was so long! I think she took off about 2 or 3 inches
Leah's new big girl haircut with layers and hair left down for the first time
This is what I find when I turned around while cooking in the kitchen! There are suppose to be cabinet doors attached to this, but our contractor left the job unfinished and this is what happens!!
It has been so beautiful here...Summer weather in Spring...we had to go out and enjoy it!
