Happy 1st birthday Leah Victoria!

1 Comments from family/friends
I can't believe our baby girl is one year old! I know everyone says it and I'll say it too...It's amazing how fast they grow up with just a blink of an eye!...Treasure every moment with your child because they grow up WAY to fast!

We had Leah's birthday at our house with tables and chairs setup in the garage, back deck/yard, and inside the house; Bocce ball and Ladder ball in the front yard; and a huge moonwalk for the kids in the backyard. We had 55-60 people show up to help us celebrate her first birthday! Chris and I were up at 8:00 AM - Midnight the day before trying to get everything ready and we still weren't done. We started blowing up balloons the night before but I was worried that they would deflate by the time her party rolls around...thank God we didn't blow up ALL the balloons because the latex balloons did deflate so we blew more up the morning of her party. Originally, we had rented a huge moonwalk which is an inflatable room for kids (and come to find out adults) to jump in and an inflatable room with balloons that blow around so the kids can try catching them. When the guys came to setup an hour before the party started, we found out that we didn't have enough power in the outside outlets when our circuit blew with just the moonwalk up so we had to bag one of them...bye bye balloon one. Honestly it worked out just fine having the moonwalk...the kids had a blast and after they left...it was the adults turned and we had a blast :).

The most important part was that Leah seemed to have enjoyed her...not-so-little...birthday bash!! She did awesome with everyone holding her and being away from mommy and daddy pretty much the whole time. She only wanted mommy once, which is a HUGE step for her! After she had fun eating her cake, I took her upstairs to get her cleaned off and ready for her afternoon nap. Since she was away from me most of the time, I was certain that she would've pee peed her diaper (which was to be expected), but to my surprise, she was completely dry so off to the potty we went and sure enough she really had to go - YAY for Leah!!

Since there were so many people at her party and we only had 2 hours to fit everything in before she got tired for her afternoon nap, Chris and I decided that we weren't going to have her open presents in front of everyone, plus at this age she really didn't know what was going on anyway. When Leah woke from her nap, there were still people at our house so we ended up opening her gifts then. Chris' mom, Schmitty (Chris' buddy from college), Holly (Schmitty's girlfriend), AJ (Holly's son), Seth (Holly's other son), and their dog, Lexi were there to see her...well me...open her gifts. She was more interested in the wrapping and tissue paper LOL.

Leah is truly blessed with so many people that love her and want to spoil her that Chris and I will defintely need to go and get her a toy chest. Dad and Cindy...maybe we can go to the amish place that we all went to a few years ago and find her one...I can't remember the name of the place even after Chris just told me the name last night.

Leah's party officially ended at 11:00 PM when Schmitty, Holly, AJ, Seth, and Lexi left to go back to Canadaigua (an hours drive away). Thanks to everyone that came out and enjoyed the beauiful weather we had and in helping us celebrate Leah's first milestone!!

I was told I had to go in because Chris, Schmitty, and Holly have all gone and I was the only one left...so I went in with AJ

Leah's first trip to Rudy's

1 Comments from family/friends
Every year for the last 9 years, Chris and I look forward to Rudy's opening in the Summer so we can go and enjoy the food and atmosphere. It's not healthy food by any means, but we love it! We take our dog, Cody, with us since you pretty much eat outside picnic style. He's gone so many times that if we say "Cody, do you want to go to Rudy's?", he gets so excited.

Friday, July 10 was Leah's first time at Rudy's...we laid down a blanket, some toys, and cheerios for her to enjoy. Then we wanted to go and take some pictures at Fair Haven, which is on Lake Ontario, but we had to pay to get in even though it was after 6pm on a weeknight...needless to say....we turned around and headed home.

Belated 4th of July Family Get-together

We went to see family today for a "Belated" Fourth of July. Here are some pics:

Chris and grandpa hanging out on the deck chatting until I came along and made them pose for a picture :)

They are so silly!

Leah was way past her bedtime so she wasn't cooperating towards the end of the day, which I don't blame her of course...she actually fell asleep less than 2 minutes from their driveway!
