A short visit from my sister & cousin (042012-050412)

My sister Mandy and cousin Fionne came to visit for 2 weeks and I have to say it was too short. It was their first time meeting Jacob and the introduction was him waking them up in the morning :) The girls did A LOT of shopping (clothes and makeup seem to be cheaper here) and we even squeezed in a road trip to the Strong Museum in Rochester with a dinner at the Cheesecake Factory YUMMO!

Before they came, I had so many plans. I thought of taking them to the Zoo, going up to Montreal to visit some family and to meet our brand new baby cousin, an overnight in NYC, and hitting the outlet on the way up from the City, but then...REALITY HIT ME STRAIGHT IN THE FACE...I have kids, a hubby that was cranking at work and wasn't able to take time off, and a weekly schedule filled with prior commitments. It made me realize how quickly life changes and because we just go with the flow, it goes unnoticed until something like this happens. Before I could throw a pity party for myself, I remembered the verse in Ecclesiastes 3:1 - There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. How quickly that start of a "party" turned into happiness and gratefulness. Yes, our family seems a little crazy right now, but it's not going to last forever. Kids grow up, get independent, schedules change, and then one day, Chris and I will be sitting on the coach wondering where time went with no more kids living in the house and an open schedule to do whatever we choose.

Anyway, here are some pictures and some funny moments while they were here visiting:

My cousin - She looks like a Hollywood star here LOL
Chris teaching the kids how to make music
It was Star Wars day at the museum so a lot of the characters were walking around. Jacob was so intrigued and not scared at all.
So cute! This is a grocery store setup in the museum and the kids had to go around and pick 5 items that they want, then checkout.
Yum strawberries...I'll take one!
Mmm....nah...I don't think I want the pumpkin anymore...
I want the watermelon instead.
Here I go
If I'm going to be a butcher...I better wash my hands

Leah's shopping trip...she was on a mission!
It's time to checkout!!

Jacob's turn
Leah food stand...serving up burgers, hotdogs, pizza, etc.
Uncle Schmitty came and spent the day with us as well!!
Uncle Schmitty's gift to Leah
We had such a great time and will definitely be going back!
Chris is a huge Star Wars fan so this made his day!!
Chris' birthday - He wanted to spend it at Chuck E Cheese for the kids...so sweet! Leah had a grand idea of making a super hero cake for daddy, but then it ended up being Star Wars. I wonder why?! HAHA
He kicked my butt!
Yee Yee (what the kids call my sister) playing a matching game with Leah
Oh my goodness this was WAY TOO HILARIOUS to not post! Fionne and I were laughing so hard in the car. My sister (a city girl) wheeling the empty trash can and recyclables up the long driveway while complaining about bird poo on the ground and how long the driveway is LOL.
HAHA....you can't even see her here
I started the water and went to do something in the other room. I then hear a splash and figured Jacob was getting the whole floor wet so I asked my cousin to go get him and this is what she finds! He was still fully dressed with a shirt, jeans, diaper, and socks. I'm very thankful this ended up being so hilarious vs. something that could have been horrible.
Look at the smirk LOL
He didn't care that his clothes were still on and his diaper was soaked with water.

Most of these pictures were taken by my sister. Thanks Mandy for capturing as much as you could :) We can't wait for you to come back!! You know, maybe the end of the year so you can meet your new niece or nephew :D Am I pushing it? LOL

Leah will ask me every so often...can Yee Yee and Tsai Tsai come over today? HAHA it's too cute!
